The Cabinet Company, Inc. was established in 1988, specializing in quality cabinetry for every room of your home. Our professionals can assist in all aspects of cabinetry from the initial design of your kitchen, bath, etc. to the final installations of your cabinets.

Judy Harris Shorter - President/CKD
Judy is certified by the National Kitchen and Bath Association as a professional kitchen designer. She has a design degree from Radford University, along with over 30 years experience. Her qualifications are your assurance of a kitchen that is professionally designed for functionality and accessibility. It takes years of training and expertise to earn those coveted CKD initials. CKD qualification requirements go far beyond the demonstration of space planning ability and design talent. It requires the ability to write specifications and draw plans that plumbers, electricians, and cabinet installers can interpret. It means being familiar with local building codes, safety and environmental regulations, not to mention all those new products -- everything from high-tech appliances to cabinet finishes to custom door knobs. All CKD's must keep up with changing technologies and products and are required to participate in an ongoing professional development program.

Julie Phillips - Designer
Julie has a design degree from Radford University, along with five years experience in the design field. For the past four years, Julie has specialized in the design of kitchens and baths. She has been with The Cabinet Company since July 2005. She possesses an extensive knowledge of space planning and color coordination. Julie can assist you in creating your personal style.

Thomas "Tommy" Alderman - Supervisor, Production/Installations
Tommy has 25 years of experience in the woodworking and cabinetry industry. He has been with The Cabinet Company for 15 years. He has the judgement and expertise to ensure professionally-installed cabinets, as well as the ability to produce custom units for any interior.
